Poker, I barely knew her, so they say..
But I’ve played ten thousand hands today.
The river turns, the chips stack tall,
I know this game—I’ve seen it all.
The rookies chase, they dream, they bet,
I spot their tells, I call, I check.
They think they’ve trapped me—oh, how sweet,
But traps mean nothing when I don’t compete.
For poker’s not in hands we play,
It’s in the bets we throw away.
It’s knowing when the time is right,
To push all-in or fold the fight.
The bluffs, the tilt, the highs, the lows,
The art of reading what one shows.
They think I’m lost, they think I’m new,
Poker, I barely… if only they knew.
